Even though I am a man, I do have some experience in this area due to my wife, Cynthia. She wears nothing but thongs; okay she has a couple of pairs of boy cuts and one style that is a little more than a thong that goes with an outfit I bought her at Victoria's Secret - but other than that she has only thongs (or slingshots as I call them)!

If you are like her and have a big collection of thongs, you may find that you need to sort through them periodically and replace some of them. Some types of thongs fit different bodies better than others, and you also have to be concerned about the fabric choice. This is a tender area that you do not want chafed from choosing too coarse a fabric.

For the reason mentioned above, your choice in fabric needs to be the very first thing that you consider. You want a fabric that is soft and breathable, such as one of the fine synthetic blends available today - or even a cotton poly blend. It is best to stay away from thongs made totally of cotton, because they do not allow for evaporation of moisture. This is a factor you need to consider, because it causes the chafing I mentioned above.

The secondary thing you will want to examine is the actual size of the crotch area of the thong you are considering. This area needs to be as small as possible so that it doesn't bunch up and create a noticeable appearance under your clothes. This defeats the whole purpose of wearing a thong in the first place. Choose a thin fabric with a great deal of elasticity, and you will never have a problem with comfort.

You also need to be sure that the crotch length is appropriate for your body, as it will make you go nuts if it doesn't fit where it should. The same applies if it is too short; you will end up with a perpetual wedgie that will cause chafing and rubbing.

So now it is time to go through your underwear drawer and throw out all the old thongs that don't fit properly and buy some new ones. Now that you have a little more knowledge of what to look for when you are shopping, you should be able to find a good assortment that you will love wearing.
