Recently, All American Homes, a subsidiary of mobile home manufacturer Coachmen Industries announced, that it would be building a 'green' home at the lawn of the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The said green home will be part of the 'Smart Home: Green + Wired' exhibit at the said venue. It will be open to the public from May 8 until January 4 next year. According to the company, the exhibit will be an event where guests will be able to see the latest innovations in reusable resources. Different companies have been developing technologies that can be used to save on energy consumption. These technologies will be unveiled and showcased at the upcoming event in Chicago. Apart from that, they will also be showcasing healthy living environments. Michelle Kaufman Designs is responsible for designing the green home. It is currently being manufactured at All American Homes' manufacturing facility located in Decatur, Indiana. The architectural firm, which specializes in designing sustainable and modular architecture, has named the home mkSolaire. It is designed with an interior for a family. According to reports, the home will be powered by ComEd, and will be heated by Peoples Gas. Rick Lavers, chief executive officer of Coachmen Industries said: 'In this, the 75th anniversary year of the Museum of Science and Industry, Coachmen Industries and All American Homes are extremely pleased to be the builders of the Smart Home: Green + Wired. This project is perfectly aligned with our corporate commitment to building more sustainable and environmentally friendly housing and recreational vehicles. 'Our systems-built housing is by nature more environmentally friendly, using less fuel for transportation of raw materials and less waste in the manufacturing process, and we are now offering our builders and homeowners 'green' alternatives and options they can customize and incorporate into their homes,' he concluded. All American Home's creation designed by Michelle Kaufman Designs is sure to open the eyes of many people to the advantages of using technologies developed to help protect the environment. This move by these green companies comes at a good time, especially with manufacturers using more and more green technologies in the development and production of home decors like garden fountains.
